In Warsaw, a Russian archaeologist, Alexander Butyagin, head of the Hermitage department, was arrested. He has been wanted in Ukraine since last November for participating in illegal excavations in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Today, 21 July, Olena Zemliana was appointed Director General of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine – a lawyer and specialist in cultural policy and heritage protection with many years of experience in the cultural sphere, including museum work and the publishing sector.

On September 18, the National Museum of Lithuania opened an international exhibition project titled «Kyivan Rus. Origins,» held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda.

When the full-scale war began, the team of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine was incredibly touched by the help of colleagues from Scandinavia. 

Thanks to colleagues from Scandinavia, who during the full-scale war were the first to offer help to the Museum

After almost 10 years of trials, artefacts from four Crimean museums, which were presented at the exhibition “Crimea – Gold and Secrets of the Black Sea” in Amsterdam, returned to Ukraine. The Allard Pierson Museum transferred them to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.

The Oslo Numismatic Society produced a unique coin for its 50th anniversary. On its obverse, among other things, there is a coin of Prince Yaroslav (1019–1054) with a trident.
