Rules of attendance
The rules apply to all visitors to the National Museum of History of Ukraine, regardless of citizenship, gender, religion, age and purpose of visiting the museum.
Allowed
- Leave things (bags, backpacks, briefcases, umbrellas etc.) larger than 40 x 30 cm (15,7 x 11,8 in) in the cloakroom. There you can put it in the locker. And view the exhibits with more comfort;
- Take pictures! But without a flash. The objects from the Museum collection are hundreds or even thousands years old, so bright light destroys them;
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult;
- You can enter the museum with a pram or wheelchair. Unfortunately, the Museum isn’t equipped for comfortable movement in a wheelchair yet. But if you inform us about such visit in advance, our staff will help.
It is forbidden
- Distract other visitors. We respect everyone who comes to the Museum. We hope you will also respectother people here. Therefore, please don’t shout or jostle.
- Be rude to the staff. We can’t imagine that somebody even think about this, but just in case ask to refrain from shouting and rudeness. If something at the Museum disturbes you, please leave a feedback;
- Run and jump. It’s great if you’re keen on sport, but the Museum isn’t suitable for physical activities. Otherwise, you can damage the exhibits and spoil other visitors’ impressions;
- Bring in animals;
- Bring sharp and cutting objects, weapons, explosive, flammable, combustible, poisonous and corrosive substances. The Museum is provided with a sufficient level of security, so you’ll be in safe without such things;
- Come in with any vehicles (roller skates, scooters, electric scooters etc.);
- Leave waste;
- Come under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Smoking is also prohibited ;
- Consume food and any alcoholic beverages in the Museum. However, you can have a snack on the lawn at the Museum territory, which is one of the most picturesque landscapes of Kyiv.
If a visitor breaks these rules, they will have to leave the Museum. In this case, the fee for tickets and tour services doesn’t be refunded. Such situation is unpleasant for both the visitor and the Museum staff, so we hope that you’ll follow our requests.
If you have ideas to improve the Museum work, please leave a review in the book on the ground floor, in our social networks or write an email to history_museum@nmiu.org
