On June 6, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine opened the exhibition «Pre-Christian Beliefs of Ukraine». Its goal is to show the diversity of ideas and beliefs among the ancient inhabitants of Ukraine from the Stone Age to the Christianisation.

The opening of the exhibition coincided with the National Day of Sweden, whose charitable contributions made the project possible. The grand opening took place on June 6 at 16:00.

The exhibition tells about the origin of religious beliefs; rituals and ideas related to people’s life (birth, marriage, death) and housing; ancient sacred places and their veneration; how people imagined ancient deities and priests; our ancestors ideas about the universe and place of humans in it.

The exhibition features more than 500 original exhibits from the collection of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.
